Manila:
A army aircraft crashed within the southern Philippines on Sunday, and the military chief stated at the least 40 individuals had been rescued from the plane that media reported was carrying 85 individuals.
The C-130 plane of the Philippine Air Pressure had a mishap on touchdown on the island of Jolo, the air power stated in a press release.
“Rescue efforts are ongoing,” it stated.
An image printed by ABS-CBN News on Twitter confirmed smoke and flames pouring from the damaged fuselage.
The AFP information company stated the aircraft had been carrying 85 individuals, citing the military chief.
Armed forces chief Cirilito Sobejana informed reporters that at the least 40 individuals had been rescued from the crashed aircraft and had been now being handled.
