New Delhi:
A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck in Tajikistan on Friday with tremors felt throughout North India and Delhi, prompting individuals to hurry out of their houses.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Tajikistan – about 450 km from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, in keeping with India’s Nationwide Heart for Seismology.
The earthquake struck at 10:31 pm IST at a depth of 74 km from the floor.
Robust tremors had been felt in Delhi and surrounding areas for a number of seconds.
“Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi. Praying for everybody’s security,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
There was no speedy report of any injury to lifetime of property.
Robust tremors had been additionally felt in Amritsar and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s spokesperson mentioned he spoke to the police commissioner.
