British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday expressed solidarity with India after a glacier burst in Uttarakhand, which led to huge flooding within the state.
Taking to Twitter, Johnson stated that the UK is able to provide any help required to India after the devastating floods in Uttarakhand.
“My ideas are with the folks of India and rescue employees in Uttarakhand as they reply to devastating flooding from the glacier collapse. The UK stands in solidarity with India and is able to provide any help wanted,” he tweeted.
A glacier broke within the Tapovan-Reni space of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand on Sunday triggering huge flooding in Dhauliganga and Alaknanda Rivers and broken homes and the close by Rishiganga energy challenge.
Following the incident, leaders internationally together with French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki expressed condolences to the victims of the glacial burst.
“France expresses its full solidarity with India, after a glacier burst within the Uttarakhand province, resulting in the disappearance of over 100 folks. Our ideas are with them and their households,” stated Macron in a tweet.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has rescued 12 individuals who had been trapped within the tunnel close to the Tapovan space following a glacier burst.
“We’re assuming that round 125 persons are lacking. The quantity may be greater,” stated Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
