Cat’s Out Of Bag: Bengal Governor Vs Trinamool Congress On Farm Bills Row

The passage of the farm payments in parliament has sparked a contemporary row between West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Mr Dhankhar on Tuesday had accused the Mamata Banerjee authorities of creating room for corruption within the disbursement of Central funds after which the state made public two letters to the Centre from the Chief Minister.

The letters, dated September 9, mentioned Bengal would implement PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Ayushman Bharat if the Centre despatched the funds for disbursement to the state authorities.

“The cat is out of the bag,” Mr Dhankhar mentioned at a press meet known as at a brief discover in Raj Bhavan, stating that the Centre transferred cash from the schemes on to the beneficiary’s checking account to stop middlemen from taking cuts.

Claiming there was widespread corruption in Amphan aid funds disbursement, the governor recommended that it might be repeated if PM Kisan and Ayushman funds have been routed by the state.

This newest showdown was sparked by Mr Dhankhar who wrote to Ms Banerjee on Monday, alleging she was doing injustice to Bengal’s farmers by denying them the advantages of the PM Kisan scheme.

“Urge you to not shed “crocodile tears for farmers”,” he tweeted on Tuesday whereas placing the letter within the public area.

On Monday, Ms Banerjee had condemned the “forcible” passage of the farm payments and mentioned the BJP authorities was a “chi chi” authorities.

“Disgrace disgrace BJP govt,” she had mentioned.

In an obvious response to Mr Dhankhar’s “crocodile tears” tweet, the Bengal authorities has made public Ms Banerjee’s letters to the Union Well being and Agriculture Ministers, agreeing to implement the central schemes if funds have been despatched to not beneficiaries however to the state.
