CCPA issues notice to Uber over ‘Advance Tip’ feature for faster service


Shopper safety watchdog CCPA has issued a discover to ride-hailing platform Uber for allegedly “forcing or nudging” customers to pay advance suggestions for quicker service. “The observe of ‘Advance Tip’ is deeply regarding,” Shopper Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi stated in a social media submit.

“Forcing or nudging customers to pay a tip upfront, for quicker service is unethical and exploitative. Such actions fall underneath unfair commerce practices,” the minister wrote.

Taking cognizance of the problem, the minister directed the Central Shopper Safety Authority (CCPA) to analyze the matter.
