The Centre has sanctioned Rs 180 crore for the restoration of the railway community devastated by floods and landslides in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday confirmed the allocation of Rupees 180 crore by the Centre for the restoration work.
“The Railway Ministry has additionally assured to finish the restoration work of railway community in Dima Hasao district by July 10 this 12 months,” Mr Sarma mentioned.
“Repairing the broken parts of the important rail hyperlink will restore connectivity between Barak and Brahmaputra valleys of Assam and reconnect Tripura, Mizoram and components of Manipur with the remainder of the remainder the nation,” added Mr Sarma.
Earlier, the Assam Chief Minister had met Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Sunday.
