“Crass”: Sharad Pawar’s Party Slams Minister’s Remarks On Supriya Sule


NCP MP Supriya Sule has not reacted to minister Abdul Sattar’s remark in opposition to her

An offensive remark by Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar in opposition to Nationalist Congress Social gathering (NCP) chief Supriya Sule on a regional tv channel has triggered a significant political controversy. Terming the remark as “crass”, NCP has demanded that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde drop Mr Sattar from his Cupboard.

NCP staff led by MLA Vidya Chavan held a protest-demonstration exterior Mr Sattar’s residence right now. In addition they demanded that an FIR be filed in opposition to the minister for his objectionable remark in opposition to Ms Sule, NCP’s Baramati MP.

Reacting to the controversy, Ms Sule’s husband, Sadanand Sule, tweeted, saying: “So the mysoginistic leaders proceed their tirade in opposition to Supriya and by default all girls, who stand as much as their macho behaviour and expose their character and talents.”

“Sustain the great work Supriya, extra energy to you and different girls,” he added.

Going through flak, Mr Sattar expressed remorse if his remark harm anybody, however maintained that he didn’t make any comment in opposition to Ms Sule, the daughter of NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

Mr Sattar, who belongs to ‘Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena’, led by Chief Minister Shinde, mentioned he didn’t make any comment in opposition to girls.

Mr Sattar, who represents the Sillod constituency in Aurangabad district, allegedly used a derogatory phrase referring to Ms Sule when reporters requested him about “khoke” (packing containers of cash) jibe, implying a purported change of cash when the Shiv Sena faction led by Mr Shinde revolted in opposition to the social gathering management headed by Uddhav Thackeray.

One other NCP chief, Eknath Khadse, additionally condemned Mr Sattar’s remark and mentioned the Chief Minister ought to train some manners to the Agriculture Minister.
