Dalit Brothers Beaten, House Set Ablaze For Not Withdrawing Police Case

A Dalit household was overwhelmed up and their home set ablaze by so-called higher caste males on Saturday.


A Dalit man and his brother had been mercilessly overwhelmed up and their hut was burnt allegedly by a bunch of just about 15 males in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia district, police stated. The household was attacked as a result of they allegedly refused to withdraw a two-year-old police case.

The case pertains to a 2018 dispute between complainant Sandeep Dohare’s brother – Santram Dohare – and accused Pavan Yadav over distinction in wage cost. The police had charged the accused utilizing sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The Yadav household wished his case withdrawn and had been pressuring Santram Dohare, however he refused.

This angered Pavan Yadav whose household reportedly beat up the Dalit man and his brother Sandeep with rifle butts, and set their home ablaze round 2pm on Saturday.

The accused have been recognized as Pavan Yadav, Kallu Yadav, their 4 family and a neighbour. They reportedly arrived at Mr Dohare’s home with a bunch of 10-12 males on 5 bikes.


They reportedly barged into Mr Dohare’s home and began beating up the brothers with rifles and axes, and set the home on fireplace. Additionally they reportedly fired shot within the air listening to which some villagers got here out of their homes and torched three of the 5 bikes. The accused then fled with the remaining bikes.

The villagers known as the police who rushed the injured males to the closest hospital, from the place they had been referred to the district hospital due to the seriousness of their accidents.

Earlier this 12 months in January, a 24-year-old Dalit man died after being burnt alive by 4 of his neighbours in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar metropolis. The accused had been forcing the person to take again a police criticism he had filed after a dispute with them, the police stated.
