Do not Act On Nameless Corruption Complaints: CVC To Authorities Departments(Representational)

New Delhi:

Nameless corruption complaints shouldn’t be taken cognisance of, the Central Vigilance Fee (CVC) has informed all authorities departments, saying any violation of this guideline shall be “seen significantly”.

The transfer comes after the probity watchdog seen cases whereby some departments/organisations had been taking cognisance of nameless complaints, regardless of strict pointers issued by Division of Personnel and Coaching (DoPT) and the CVC.

“Such non-compliance/violation of pointers by the involved authorities can be seen significantly,” mentioned the order issued on Thursday.

All chief vigilance officers — who act as distant arm of the CVC to verify corruption — and administrative authorities ought to ensures strict compliance to those directions, it mentioned.

The Fee mentioned that earlier orders by the DoPT and the CVC prescribed that “no motion can be taken on nameless/pseudonymous complaints by ministries/ departments/organisations.
