New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed anguish over the demise of 16 migrant staff in a practice accident in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad. He mentioned all doable help is being offered.

In a tweet, the prime minister mentioned, “Extremely anguished by the loss of lives due to the rail accident in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Have spoken to Railway Minister Shri Piyush Goyal and he is closely monitoring the situation”.
The staff had been returning to Madhya Pradesh and had been strolling alongside the tracks. They later slept on the rail tracks resulting from exhaustion.
The labourers, officers mentioned, all labored at an iron manufacturing unit in Jalna and had been headed again to Madhya Pradesh amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Aurangabad SP Mokshada Patil advised News18 that the employees had been strolling from Jalna to Bhuvasal, a distance of almost 170km, to catch a practice to return dwelling. They had stopped close to the monitor to take relaxation after overlaying a distance of round 45 km.
The Railways mentioned it has ordered an inquiry into the incident. “During early hours today after seeing some labourers on track, loco pilot of goods train tried to stop the train but eventually hit them between Badnapur and Karmad stations in Parbhani-Manmad section,” the ministry mentioned.
