Bihar: Sattarghat Bridge on the Gandak River collapsed simply 29 days after inauguration
Gopalganj, Bihar:
A bridge on the Gandak River in Bihar, collapsed simply 29 days after it was inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The bridge was constructed at a price of Rs 263 crore. A portion of the Sattarghat Bridge in Gopalganj crumbled into the river on Wednesday, after the water degree of the river elevated. Bihar is witnessing heavy monsoon rain for the final 4 days.
Reports quoting officers say, the culverts connecting the street to the bridge couldn’t stand the stress of the rising water ranges. Large tracts across the space are below flood waters.

Opposition leaders had been fast to focus on Nitish Kumar on Twitter. Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief and former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav’s son, Tejaswi Yadav wrote on the microblogging web site: “Bridge was built in eight years and at a cost of Rs 263 crore but in just 29 days it gave away. The Bhishma Pitamah of corruption Nitisj Ji will not speak a word about it…there is looting in Bihar everywhere…

On June 16, the Chief Minister had posted footage of laying the muse stones of a number of infrastructure initiatives through video conferencing from the state Secretariat.
The Sattarghat Bridge, connecting Gopalgunj and East Champaran districts is 1.four km lengthy. It was thrown open to the general public on June 16. The development of the bridge was began eight years in the past by the Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Ltd.
