India’s Test vice-captain and Delhi Capitals star Ajinkya Rahane has said it’s important to consider the health and safety of everyone concerned before taking a call on allowing family members of players to the United Arab Emirates for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Ajinkya Rahane, speaking on the latest episode of India Today Inspiration, said he would have loved to take his family to the UAE for IPL 2020 in a normal situation but he now has to think about their safety and the players’ safety due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
IPL 2020 was suspended until further notice due to the pandemic and it missed the April-May window. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to host the tournament in the September-November window in the UAE after the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup were postponed.
