Text description offered by the architects. The Sooke home, made for a girl and her canine sits on a rocky knoll the place the forest meets the ocean. A small clearing nestled among the many timber upon the knoll gives slices of ocean and mountains via the trunks of the massive Pacific Northwest rainforest. These fractured and partial perceptions of the forest and its environment gave us the inspiration to design a home that framed discreet experiences; as a solution to make current the maxim that you simply can’t see the forest via the timber.

After tenting on the positioning, the design workforce drew inspiration from being within the forest and eschewed the standard impetus to put a home on the sting of the forest looking into the ocean.  The rocky knoll on the excessive level of the positioning emerged because the pure place that organized the positioning. It was the place the place everybody congregated to watch and socialize. Recognized as such the choice was taken to depart this space intact and envelop it with the home.

The forest a collection of Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce and Cedars trunks supporting their foliage excessive up within the air turned our inspiration for the tectonic of the home.
