Text description offered by the architects. The theme of the Shenzhen Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism and Architecture (UABB) Yantian Sub-venue is “ City of Streams”. The exhibition is positioned in Shatoujiao Bonded Zone. Indoor displays are positioned on the first, 2nd and third ground in Building No.Eight whereas outside displays occupy the area between the West Gate and Building No.Eight in addition to the encompassing pedestrian areas.

As an interpretation of the exhibition theme “City of Streams”, the architectural set up “Multi-Streaming” makes an attempt to visualise the invisible city “streams”  by traces. The parts of the set up are impressed by the frequent supplies discovered within the Bonded Zone.

The traces of  “Stream” on the bottom information guests’ footsteps upon coming into by the west gate and main them to Building No.8,whereas the traces proceed to run up the constructing alongside the facade. Street furnishings positioned on each side of the lined paths is made with picket pallet, activating the general public area of the Bonded Zone.

The pavilion on the entrance of the exhibition area, constructed with scaffolding construction, kinds a permeable area the place guests can have a break, and outside actions of the exhibition can even happen. It acts as a “urban living room”  within the Bonded Zone that accommodates varied upcoming exhibition occasions.

The concept of the inside exhibition area underlines the economic attribute of the area: many of the motted concrete partitions and pillars stay in place; traces of beforehand eliminated partitions are coated by sand which unifies all of the area with the aesthetics of roughness, reminding guests of the sandy seashores of Yantian. The sanded paths inside the area are paved for guests wandering by the labyrinth of displays, whereas connecting the elements as a complete. The bases, stands, and all the opposite objects are in easy white geometric kinds.

The scale fashions, panels, LED screens and so forth., are suspended within the air. The design creates a clear exhibition area, with minimal and tough parts rising with a gentle rhythm giving a novel expertise of the exhibition.
