1.5 Tonnes Of Waste Cleared In Badrinath’s Cleanup Drive Post Yatra Season

After internet hosting a formidable 47 lakh devotees this season, the Badrinath Nagar Panchayat initiated a complete cleansing drive to revive the sacred shrine and its environment to their pristine situation forward of the winter closure.

A devoted group of fifty ‘Paryavaran Mitra’ carried out the cleanup, accumulating 1.5 tonnes of waste from key areas reminiscent of Brahm Kapal, Astha Path, Tapt Kund, Principal Bazaar, and Mana village.

This effort underscored the dedication of native authorities to sustaining the sanctity and cleanliness of the revered Char Dham pilgrimage website.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a constant advocate for cleanliness at Char Dham shrines, praised the initiative.

Highlighting the significance of sustainable waste administration, the municipality reported earnings of Rs8 lakh from the disposal of 110 tonnes of inorganic waste collected through the Yatra season.

The post-season cleanup at Badrinath Dham exemplifies the adage “Cleanliness is subsequent to godliness,” mixing devotion with environmental duty.

Earlier, on Monday, November 18, the sacred thrones of Uddhav, Kuber, and Shankaracharya started their winter journey from Badrinath Dham to their designated places.

Based on temple officers, the palanquins, accompanied by the tunes of a military band and rights holders, departed for his or her winter sojourn.

They halted at Pandukeshwar for the evening, the place Uddhav Ji and Kuber Ji will stay within the Yogadhyan Temple for winter worship, permitting devotees to supply prayers to Lord Badri Vishal through the low season.

The throne of Shankaracharya Ji has been positioned within the Narsingh Temple at Joshimath, whereas Narad Ji will carry out worship in Badrinath Dham, adhering to the scriptures that dictate six months of worship by people and 6 months by gods.

In the meantime, the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, in collaboration with the District Police Administration, reported a record-breaking inflow of pilgrims through the 2024 Yatra season.

Badrinath Dham welcomed 14,35,341 guests from Might 12 to November 17, together with 11,170 on the ultimate day.

Kedarnath Dham obtained 16,52,076 pilgrims between Might 10 and November 3, with 1,26,393 touring by helicopter.

Moreover, 1,83,722 pilgrims visited Shri Hemkunt Sahib and Lokpal Tirtha Shri Laxman Mandir earlier than their gates closed on October 10. Temple authorities and native administration lauded these numbers as a testomony to the profitable administration of the Yatra.

“These figures for the yr 2024 have been launched by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee with the cooperation of the District Police Administration,” the official assertion learn.
