32 Dead In Massive Tibet Earthquake, Tremors Also Felt In Parts Of India

New Delhi:

Thirty-two individuals had been killed after an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 hit Tibet close to the Nepalese border in the present day, information company AFP stated quoting Chinese language media Xinhua. The tremors of the earthquake had been felt in a number of components of India, together with Bihar, Assam and West Bengal.

Nepal is nestled in a geologically energetic area, the place the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collide, forming the Himalayas and making earthquakes a frequent incidence. In 2015, practically 9,000 individuals died and greater than 22,000 had been injured when a 7.8-magnitude quake struck Nepal, destroying greater than half one million houses.

Based on the Nationwide Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake was recorded at 6:35 am. NCS information reveals that two extra earthquakes hit the area shortly after the primary one.

The second earthquake of magnitude 4.7 was recorded at 7:02 am at a depth of 10 km and the third earthquake of magnitude 4.9 at 7:07 am at a depth of 30 km.

The tremors had been significantly felt in Bihar the place individuals had been seen outdoors their homes and residences. There have been no stories of any harm to property due to the earthquake.
