Eight Indian Navy veterans, who’ve been sentenced to death in Qatar, have been working for a non-public agency that helped the Qatari armed forces. Among the many eight males are embellished officers who as soon as commanded Indian warships.
The veterans, who have been arrested in August 2022, are Captain Navtej Singh Gill, Captain Birendra Kumar Verma, Captain Saurabh Vasisht, Commander Amit Nagpal, Commander Purnendu Tiwari, Commander Sugunakar Pakala, Commander Sanjeev Gupta and Sailor Ragesh Gopakumar. They labored for a non-public agency, Dahra World Applied sciences and Consultancy Companies, which offered coaching and different providers for Qatar’s armed forces.
In a press release, the Ministry of Exterior Affairs mentioned it was shocked by the decision and would take up the problem with Qatari authorities.
Award-Successful Commander

In line with stories, the eight males had allegedly been arrested for espionage. Their bail petitions had been rejected a number of occasions and the decision towards them was pronounced on Thursday by the Court docket of First Occasion in Qatar.
Reacting to the decision, the Ministry of Exterior Affairs mentioned in a press release, “We’re deeply shocked by the decision of demise penalty and are awaiting the detailed judgement. We’re in contact with the relations and the authorized workforce, and we’re exploring all authorized choices.”
“We connect excessive significance to this case, and have been following it carefully. We’ll proceed to increase all consular and authorized help. We may even take up the decision with Qatari authorities,” it added.
