Delhi’s love for world-class Asian delicacies is simple, with new eating places repeatedly popping up and attractive us. Although the restaurant opened solely a few months again, it was practically full, the energetic music mixing seamlessly with the excitement from the bar space. It felt like the proper spot for a weekend night time out.
As somebody who enjoys cocktails, I could not resist exploring their progressive drink menu. I opted for the Palo-Mei, a tequila-based concoction made with 1800 Silver tequila and infused with Chook’s Eye chilli. This cocktail was a pleasant stability; the warmth of the chilli was superbly offset by the sweetness of strawberry and grapefruit, making a refreshing but complicated drink. I additionally tried the Mango Tai, one other tequila delight. Do not let its title idiot you-it wasn’t overly candy. As a substitute, it provided a delicate mango flavour mixed with the invigorating notes of basil and citrus.
The menu at Kamei is an interesting mix of conventional and fashionable dishes, showcasing the various flavours of East Asia, with influences from China, Japan, Thailand, and past. The “Smalls to Share” part options an array of signature chilly plates, whereas the “Larges to Share” consists of traditional curries and wok dishes that may be paired with Kamei Fried Rice or Yaki Udon for an entire meal.
One dish that stood out was the Coconut Sea Bass Ceviche, enhanced by a richly flavoured coriander coconut leche de tigre. This dish was gentle but creamy, with the prawn cracker including a pleasant crunch-plus, it was a feast for the eyes!
No go to to an Asian restaurant can be full with out dim sum and sushi, so I ordered the Rooster Siu Mai. It was extremely succulent, bursting with juicy flavours. I additionally needed to strive the Prawn Tempura, a dish I can not resist at any Asian restaurant. Kamei didn’t disappoint; the tempura was completely balanced, with a pleasant distinction between tender and crunchy textures.
One other must-try for avocado lovers is the Yuzu Avocado. This dish options grilled avocado paired with a zesty wasabi sauce and a creamy yuzu emulsion. The crispy rice cake added an ideal crunch, making it a heavenly expertise.
Whereas savouring the array of pleasant dishes and cocktails, I used to be shocked with a dessert that elevated my temper to new heights. The Honeycomb, a Malaysian sponge cake drizzled with whisky caramel sauce and served with vanilla gelato, was merely divine-a true match made in heaven.
