Veteran actor-comedian Jagdeep, greatest recognized for his roles in movies reminiscent of Sholay, Purana Mandir and Andaz Apna Apna, died at his Mumbai residence on Wednesday. He was 81. “He passed away at 8.30 pm at his residence in Bandra. He was not keeping well due to age related issues,” filmmaker Mehmood Ali, a detailed household good friend, informed information company PTI. Jagdeep is survived by his spouse, daughters and sons, amongst them actors Jaaved Jaaferi and TV character Naved Jafri. Born as Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, the legendary actor was popularly referred to as Jagdeep, his stage title.
