The Cyber Cell of Chennai Police has registered a case after a rape menace was made on Twitter in opposition to the daughter of actor Vijay Sethupathi, who yesterday exited from “800” – a biopic on Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan – following opposition to his involvement within the undertaking.
With out referring to Mr Sethupathi by title, or revealing particulars concerning the menace, Chennai Police Commissioner Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal tweeted: “There was a variety of concern on social media concerning feedback made in opposition to a celeb. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada tweeted: “Why does this crappy society do that? Watch silently when this occurs? How are males raised to talk out a rape menace? Why is it when adults battle like hyenas, the ladies and youngsters need to endure? Disgrace on all of you who do it and people who watch and stay silent.”
In the meantime the account from which the menace was despatched has been deleted.
It’s not clear but if this was Twitter appearing after the outrage or if it was eliminated by the person.
Mr Sethupathi’s daughter is not the one high-profile sufferer of such bestial threats in current days; earlier this month cricketer MS Dhoni’s daughter was equally threatened after her father – who performs for the Chennai Tremendous Kings within the ongoing IPL – misplaced a match.
