Air India’s Boeing plane that was grounded in Magadan in far east Russia landed in Mumbai on Saturday night.
The aircraft had taken off from Magadan earlier within the day after engineers rectified the oil system defect in one of many engines, in keeping with the airline.

An Air India spokesperson on Saturday mentioned the B777-200LR plane, bearing registration mark VT-ALH, that was grounded in Magadan, Russia (GDX) following the diversion of AI173 DEL-SFO on June 6, has departed GDX and is on its approach to Mumbai.
“We are able to verify {that a} defect within the oil system of one of many plane’s engines has been rectified by our engineering staff that flew on a ferry flight to GDX on June 7. The plane was checked on all security parameters and authorized serviceable earlier than take off from GDX in the present day,” the spokesperson mentioned in an announcement.
Later within the night, the spokesperson mentioned the plane landed at Mumbai airport at round 8.16 pm.
