DALLAS—The American Lighting Association is looking for award nominees and artists for next January’s HEARTS Awards, the program recently announced by DMC and ART.
For the event, for which it is a partner along with a number of other industry organizations, the ALA will be submitting both an award nominee from among its membership as well as up to five artists who will be tasked with painting plates for the event’s charity auction.
Hearts Awards will honor people and/or companies that have shown outstanding leadership, empathy and service during these challenging times, going above and beyond in service to their industry and/or community. For ALA’s awards nominee, people may send suggestions—who must be ALA members—and a brief description of how each nominee meets the award criteria to Raelle Bell at Raelle@ALALighting.com. All nominations must be submitted by Aug. 14. In addition, nominees must be available to attend the HEARTS Awards, scheduled to take place Jan. 8, 2021, at The Hilton Anatole here.
Coinciding with the awards, a charity fundraiser will take place to benefit hunger relief. One hundred artists, designers, celebrities, influencers and special guests will creatively design one-of-a-kind dinner plates to be auctioned to the highest bidder, and participating organizations can submit up to five artists for consideration. The auction will begin online in November and will conclude on the evening of the event.
The ALA would like all artist suggestions by July 28, as those plate artist selections must be submitted by Aug. 1. Those names can also be emailed to Bell.

The HEARTS Awards is taking the place of the annual ARTS Awards, which will return in January 2022.
