The Mahatama Gandhi statue was defaced final week amid farm regulation protests.

The US has strongly condemned the defacing of a Mahatma Gandhi statue final week in entrance of the Indian Embassy in Washington DC because the White Home described the incident as “horrible”, stressing that he “fought for the values that America represents” . That is the second incident in lower than six months.
“It is horrible. No statue or memorial must be desecrated and positively not one like that of Gandhi who actually fought for the values that America represents of peace, justice, and freedom,” White Home Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany mentioned throughout a press briefing on Tuesday.

The Mahatma Gandhi statue that was focused final week was unveiled by former former Prime Miister Atal Bhari Vajpayee within the presence of then US president Invoice Clinton on September 16, 2000.
An analogous incident was reported in June amid protests towards the custodial killing of African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis.
