The Gujarat skills development programme, led by the state’s Labour, Talent Growth and Employment Division in collaboration with Kaushalya: The Skill University (KSU), goals to equip the state’s workforce with industry-aligned, superior expertise that enhance job readiness in high-growth sectors, ADB stated in an announcement.
The programme will strengthen the institutional and managerial capability of the KSU community and broaden entry to high-quality, industry-relevant coaching programs that combine frontier applied sciences, it stated.
By way of this course of, the programme goals to remodel the governance and efficiency of the technical and vocational training and coaching (TVET) system in Gujarat, establishing a scalable mannequin that may be replicated throughout different states in India, it stated.
Specializing in seven high-priority industries – logistics, automotive, manufacturing, info know-how, renewable power, healthcare, and agri-tech – the programme will implement a variety of interventions, it stated.
These embody upgrading 11 mega industrial coaching institutes (ITIs), establishing centres of excellence, and partnering with affiliated personal coaching suppliers by way of a hub-and-spoke mannequin anchored by KSU, it stated.
