Billed by writer Scholastic as a “love letter to the pure world,” Selznick’s “Massive Tree” tells the story of two sycamore seeds and their quest throughout time and area to avoid wasting the world. The 528-page e-book, that includes almost 300 pages of illustrations by Selznick, comes out April 4, 2023. He started engaged on “Massive Tree” after Spielberg instructed he write a narrative of nature, from nature’s viewpoint.
“‘Massive Tree’ is a few type of hope that may be present in nature,” Selznick stated in a press release launched Thursday. “It is about surviving by working collectively to create a neighborhood. It is about transferring ahead, planning for the long run, and rising – even within the face of destruction. The pure world presents so many lovely metaphors to assist us dwell. Timber want one another to outlive in the identical means individuals want one another to outlive. And like nature, we should be adaptable as we develop.”
In a press release concerning the e-book, Spielberg stated, “The story of the pure world is the best story we now have to inform, and Brian delivers an excellent chapter of it within the pages of ‘Massive Tree.'”
Selznick’s earlier books embody ‘Wonderstruck’, ‘The Marvels’ and ‘Invention of Hugo Cabret’, winner in 2008 of the Caldecott medal for illustration of a kids’s story and the idea of Martin Scorsese‘s movie ‘Hugo’.
