LOS ANGELES — Charles Thomas “Charlie” Munger, greatest referred to as Warren Buffett’s accomplice and vice chairman of funding agency Berkshire Hathaway, died Nov. 28 on the age of 99. He would have been 100 on Jan. 1.

Munger is reported to have died peacefully at a hospital close to his house in Los Angeles.

Munger has served as Berkshire vice chairman since 1978, and news sources name him 93-year-old Buffett’s right-hand man and sounding board.

“Bershire Hathaway couldn’t have been constructed to its current standing with out Charlie’s inspiration, knowledge and participation,” Buffett stated in a Berkshire Hathaway release.

Munger was born in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 1, 1924, to Alfred and Florence Munger.
