Part 2 of the Prevention of Insults to Nationwide Honour Act says, “Insults to Indian Nationwide Flag and Structure of India”, says: “Whoever in any public place or in another place inside public view burns, mutilates, defaces, defiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or in any other case reveals disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether or not by phrases, both spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian Nationwide Flag or the Structure of India or any half thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment for a time period which can prolong to a few years, or with effective, or with each.”
