Hathras case: BJP MP has written to Yogi Adityanath to take “strict motion”

A BJP MP has written to his celebration colleague and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to take “strict motion” in opposition to officers who went forward with the hasty cremation of a lady who was gang-raped and died after battling for her life in a hospital in Delhi.
“Clarification needs to be sought from these officers who with out consent of the household cremated their daughter in a hasty method at 2 am (Wednesday). If any officer is discovered responsible, strict motion needs to be taken in opposition to them,” Delhi BJP MP Hans Raj Hans stated within the letter on Wednesday.

The lady from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh had suffered a number of fractures, paralysis and a gash in her tongue within the horrific assault that drew parallels to the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape case.
The lady’s physique was taken to her village in Hathras, about 200 km from Delhi, after midnight. As her household and villagers suspected the UP police wished to finish the final rites proper then, in the course of the night time, they insisted that this was “in opposition to their custom”; the girl’s father pleaded with the police to be allowed to take her dwelling and cremate her within the morning.

Amid spiralling outrage, the Hathras police claimed the cremation was carried out with the household’s consent and a few members had been current. It turned out to be one uncle – not her mother and father – who was referred to as and proven the cremation.
The UP police, which is underneath scrutiny over alleged lapses all through the case, has been accused of dashing the cremation in a determined cover-up try.
