The Election Commision on Friday banned Assam minister and senior BJP chief Himanta Biswa Sarma from campaigning for 48 hours for brazenly threatening to ship Hagrama Mohilary – whose BPF (Bodoland Folks’s Entrance) is a member of the Congress-led opposition alliance – to jail by misusing the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA).
