The lady, whose severed head was discovered at a rubbish dump in south Kolkata’s Tollygunge space, was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law as she had snubbed his advances, police stated on Saturday.
Cracking the case inside 24 hours, Kolkata Police arrested the brother-in-law, recognized as Atiur Rahman Laskar, from his native village, Basuldanga, in Diamond Harbour in South 24 Parganas district.
Police claimed that Laskar, a building employee, confessed to killing the lady who was separated from her husband two years in the past.
