The Cupboard Committee on Financial Affairs on Wednesday permitted seven multi-tracking tasks of Indian Railways at an estimated price of round Rs 32,500 crore, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned.
The proposed tasks, which shall be totally funded by the Centre, will assist enhance the prevailing line capability, smoothen practice operations, cut back congestion and facilitate ease of travelling and transportation.
The tasks protecting 35 districts in 9 states — Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal — will enhance the prevailing community of Indian Railways by 2,339 km and supply employment of an estimated 7.06 crore man-days to the individuals of the states.
The tasks embody doubling of the prevailing line between Gorakhpur-Cantt-Valmiki Nagar, the Son Nagar-Andal Multi monitoring Mission, third line between Nergundi-Barang and Khurda Highway-Vizianagaram and between Mudkhed-Medchal and Mahbubnagar-Dhone, doubling of current line between Guntur-Bibinagar, doubling of current line between Chopan-Chunar and the quadrupling between Samakhiali-Gandhidham.
Mr Vaishnaw mentioned these are important routes for transportation of various basket of commodities equivalent to foodgrains, fertilizers, coal, cement, fly-ash, iron and completed metal, clinkers, crude oil, lime stone, edible oil and so on.
The capability augmentation works will end in extra freight visitors of magnitude 200 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum).
The Railways being atmosphere pleasant and vitality environment friendly mode of transportation, will assist each in attaining local weather targets and for lowering logistics price of the nation, the ministry mentioned in an announcement. The tasks are results of PM-Gati Shakti Nationwide Grasp Plan for Multi-model connectivity which have been doable by means of built-in planning and can present seamless connectivity for motion of individuals, items and companies.
Mr Vaishnaw mentioned every of those tasks would considerably cut back the journey time of passengers.
