Actor-filmmaker Aimee Baruah, who was one of many attendees on the seventy fifth Cannes Movie Pageant this 12 months, shared glimpses of her huge pink carpet debut second on her Instagram profile. She walked the pink carpet in a Mekhela chador, a conventional Assamese outfit. On the Indian pavilion of the Cannes Movie Pageant, the movie Semkhor, directed by her was screened. This year, India was chosen as the first ‘Country of Honour’ at Marche du Cinema. She captioned one among her posts: “I walked down the pink carpet on the “Cannes Movie Pageant”, some of the esteemed occasions on the earth of cinema, draped in Muga silk, the satisfaction of each Assamese. As an Assamese myself, I’m delighted to be right here at this prestigious competition representing my language and place. I’m full of boundless pleasure. My heartfelt gratitude to the Authorities of India, the organisers of the competition and the folks of my home-state, Assam.”

In a separate Instagram publish, she documented her huge Cannes pink carpet debut second.
She checked into the French Riviera by sharing this reel on Instagram.
Sharing photographs from the Indian Pavilion on the Cannes Movie Pageant, she wrote: “I used to be overwhelmed to see the curiosity amongst folks from totally different components of the world to find out about Semkhor. I thank my group for serving to me deliver a movie about my soil, its language, to this prestigious platform and the immense respect it has garnered from all internationally. Could this victory parade of our movie fraternity proceed unabated.”
The Indian delegation at the festival was led by Info and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur together with filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, music composers AR Rahman, Ricky Kej, folks singer Mame Khan and actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan amongst others. In addition to that, actor Deepika Padukone is on Cannes jury obligation on the 10-day lengthy competition, which can finish in the present day.
