The Delhi Police on Sunday registered a case over a doctored video circulating on social media platforms exhibiting Union Residence Minister Amit Shah advocating for the abolition of reservation quotas for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Different Backward Courses (OBCs). The video, which has sparked controversy and allegations of misinformation, has prompted the Ministry of Residence Affairs (MHA) to file a criticism in search of motion towards these answerable for it.
In response to issues raised by the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) concerning the authenticity of the video, the Delhi Police registered a First Info Report (FIR) on Sunday. The BJP has denounced the video by saying that it has been manipulated to distort Mr Shah’s unique statements made throughout a political rally.
In keeping with BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya, the video in query has been altered to misrepresent Mr Shah’s remarks on the problem of reservation quotas for Muslims in Telangana.
“Congress is spreading an edited video which is totally pretend and has the potential to trigger large-scale violence. Residence Minister Amit Shah spoke about eradicating the unconstitutional reservation given to Muslims, on the idea of faith, after lowering the share of SCs/STs and OBCs. This pretend video has been posted by a number of Congress spokespersons. They have to be ready for authorized penalties,” Mr Malviya mentioned on Saturday.

The controversy surrounding the video escalated as numerous social media handles, together with official accounts affiliated with the Congress, shared the doctored footage, alleging that it revealed the BJP’s “agenda to abolish SC/ST reservation quotas”.
