New Delhi:
CBI has arrested an appraiser of the Customs Division and his affiliate posted on the Delhi airport for allegedly in search of Rs 1.40 lakh bribe to clear a consignment of batteries to South Africa, officers mentioned on Wednesday.
Customs appraiser Amit Dalal and his affiliate and Customs home agent Amit Kumar allegedly demanded the bribe from a businessman exporting batteries to South Africa.
After receiving a criticism, the CBI laid a lure and arrested the accused whereas they have been allegedly taking Rs 1 lakh as bribe, CBI spokesperson R C Joshi mentioned.
In accordance with the CBI, they’d demanded Rs 1.40 lakh as bribe from the businessman.
“Searches are being performed on the workplace and residential premises of each the accused,” Mr Joshi mentioned.
