Central Agency Arrests Senior Delhi Police Official For Receiving Bribe Of Rs 7.8 Lakh

New Delhi:

The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted in anti-narcotics wing of Delhi Police for allegedly receiving Rs 7.89 lakh bribe from an accused beneath probe, a case by which position of an assistant commissioner of police can also be beneath scanner.

The company has arrested ASI Dushyant Gautam for allegedly accepting the bribe on the directions of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Brijpal, who can also be posted in anti-narcotics wing, officers mentioned.

The CBI in its First Info Report(FIR) towards the 2 males has alleged that Brijpal had demanded Rs 15 lakh by Dushyant Gautam for giving reduction to the spouse of an accused going through probe in a case registered beneath the Narcotic Medicine and Psychotropic Substances Act at Bhalswa police station.

The accused approached the CBI with a criticism towards the police officers, they mentioned.

“The CBI laid a entice and caught the ASI (mentioned official) whereas accepting the bribe of Rs 7.89 lakh from the complainant. Searches had been performed on the premises of accused situated at Delhi and Faridabad. Investigation is continuous,” a CBI spokesperson mentioned in a press release.
