CM praises Kerala Police for leading in law enforcement, social responsibility

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday lauded the Kerala Police for going past their conventional function of sustaining regulation and order by actively contributing to constructing a greater society via revolutionary and socially dedicated initiatives.

Talking on the inauguration of a two-day alumni meet of the Scholar Police Cadet (SPC) and Serving to Others Promote Schooling (HOPE) initiatives, applied by the Kerala Police, right here on Monday, Mr. Vijayan highlighted the success of those initiatives as exemplary fashions of police-led social transformation.

“Tasks similar to HOPE and the SPC are sturdy examples of how the police can form a greater society, not simply by imposing regulation and order, however by taking duty to uplift lives and instil civic values,” he stated.

Reintegrating youngsters

Launched in 2017, the HOPE undertaking goals at reintegrating youngsters aged beneath 18 who’ve dropped out of college or failed exams again into the formal schooling system. As of the 2024–25 educational 12 months, 1,426 college students have resumed their research beneath the undertaking. As many as 1,067 college students have already enrolled in the course of the current educational 12 months. General, the initiative has enabled 4,364 college students to cross public examinations.

The SPC undertaking, undertaken in affiliation with the Common Schooling division, was applied in 431 colleges till 2016. It has since been expanded to 1,048 colleges, together with 70 new ones introduced beneath the scheme this 12 months.

The Chief Minister additionally introduced awards to 9 officers who participated and gained medals on the latest World Police and Hearth Video games in Birmingham, the U.S.
