Coaster to offer digital showroom experience for summer Las Vegas Market | Home Accents Today

LAS VEGAS – Full-line furniture resource Coaster Fine Furniture said it will not open its showroom during the summer Las Vegas Market, but will instead offer a digital showroom experience that features a mix of new product offerings.

The company said it decided not to show at the Aug. 30-Sept. 3 event due to COVID-19-related safety concerns for its customers, employees and the community. However, it said its digital showroom tour will offer products available for purchase during the market week.

“Even though our Las Vegas showroom is currently set up for viewing, the health and safety concerns weighed heavily on our minds,” said Don Deeds, executive vice president, sales and marketing, for Coaster. “It was a difficult decision to make because we look forward to attending Las Vegas Market every year and seeing our customers. However, at this time it posed too much of a risk with the current status of the pandemic.

“As we navigate through this difficult time, it is imperative for us to reimagine the traditional in-person buying approach. Opening our showroom as a digital experience is a great alternative, and we hope our customers take part in it during market week at the end of August.”

The company said it will provide additional details about its digital market experience in the coming weeks.

I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
