An Assam Rifles Colonel, his spouse and eight-year-old son, and 4 troopers had been killed in an ambush by terrorists close to the border with Myanmar in Manipur. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the assault and gave his condolences. “The cowardly assault on an Assam Rifles convoy in Churachandpur, Manipur is extraordinarily painful and condemnable. Manipur, like most of the north-eastern states, is house to a number of armed teams preventing for both better autonomy or secession. For many years, the Military has been deployed to the realm that has borders with China, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
