Cop Jumps Into Ghaziabad Canal In Bid To Save Woman From Alleged Suicide, Dies


Ghaziabad:

A visitors police constable died on Saturday after he jumped into the Hindon Canal to avoid wasting a lady who was allegedly making an attempt suicide, officers stated.

The constable, recognized as Ankit Tomar, was in his late twenties. He was pronounced useless at a close-by hospital after being pulled from the muddy canal by divers.

In line with police, the incident unfolded when Aarti (23), a resident of Vaishali Sector 2, jumped into the canal following a home dispute together with her husband, Aditya on Saturday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans Hindon) Nimish Patil stated, “Visitors Sub-Inspector (TSI) Dharmendra and Constable Ankit Tomar, who was on obligation close by, instantly jumped into the canal to rescue Aarti.

A number of passersby additionally joined the rescue effort. Whereas Aarti was efficiently pulled to security, the TSI and Constable Tomar received caught within the canal’s muddy mattress.”
