Cricket Australia broke its silence on legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar‘s displeasure at not being invited to current the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Gavaskar was not pleased with the choice to not name him on the presentation ceremony following the fifth Check match between India and Australia. Nonetheless, Cricket Australia mentioned that Gavaskar was knowledgeable that he would have introduced the award to Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah if the guests retained the trophy.
