Parliament members from Punjab who have been holding a silent protest close to parliament on Monday night have been jostled and allegedly manhandled by members of the Delhi Police. A part of the altercation befell in full view of tv cameras. Eyewitnesses mentioned the police had even hit the MPs on the legs with batons. The police later mentioned they have been making an attempt to clear the way in which for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had unexpectedly left parliament forward of schedule.
