The SJ Park police on Monday registered an FIR towards the Director of the Division of Kannada and Tradition for allegedly abusing a Dalit artist at her workplace, when the latter approached her to assert the remuneration on account of him.
Primarily based on the grievance filed by 55-year-old Jogila Siddaraju, the police registered the case towards Okay.M. Gayathri, charging her underneath varied sections of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and for voluntarily inflicting damage and intentional insult with intent to impress breach of peace underneath the BNS.
In accordance with the grievance, on July 11, Siddaraju visited the director’s workplace for pending remuneration to artists for 3 years. Nevertheless, he was allegedly abused after the director discovered that he was a Dalit.
When Siddaraju warned Gayathri that he would complain to the higher-ups, she allegedly threw a pc mouse pad at him and snatched the cell phone of his affiliate who tried to document the incident, Siddaraju mentioned in his grievance.
