Enforcement Directorate Officials At Sanjay Raut’s Home After His No-Show

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers on Sunday visited Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s home in Mumbai after he skipped summons twice for questioning in a money-laundering case. The Shiv Sena chief was summoned by the probe company on July 27 after he skipped an earlier summon citing the continuing Parliament session in Delhi.

The probe company group was accompanied by CRPF officers as they visited Mr Raut’s residence in Bandup in jap suburbs of Mumbai, this morning.

The Enforcement Directorate desires to query Mr Raut, 60, in reference to the re-development of a chawl in Mumbai and associated transactions involving his spouse and shut associates. The Sena chief has denied any wrongdoing and alleged that he’s being focused as a consequence of political vendetta.

This morning, Mr Raut once more reiterated that he has “nothing to do with any rip-off”. “I’m saying this by taking the oath of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb taught us to battle. I’ll proceed to battle for Shiv Sena,” Mr Raut tweeted.

The Rajya Sabha MP was questioned for about 10 hours on July 1, throughout which his assertion was recorded underneath the felony sections of the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act.

In April, the Enforcement Directorate connected property price over ₹ 11.15 crore of Mr Raut’s spouse Varsha Raut and two of his associates as a part of its probe.

The properties embrace a flat in Dadar held by Varsha Raut and eight plots on the Kihim seaside in Alibaug collectively held by Varsha Raut and Swapna Patkar, the spouse of Sujit Patkar, a “shut affiliate” of Sanjay Raut.
