Leathern was typically the general public face of the corporate’s controversial political promoting insurance policies. Previous to the November 3 US election, Fb was closely criticised for permitting deceptive claims and conspiracy theories to unfold broadly on its platforms.
In November, Leathern had tweeted that Fb didn’t have “the technical capability within the quick time period to allow political adverts by state or by advertiser.” Subsequently, Fb lifted a short lived post-election ban on political adverts in Georgia forward of the January 5 runoff that may decide which social gathering controls the US Senate.
