Over 50,000 police personnel shall be deployed to make sure the sleek immersion of practically two lakh Ganesh idols on Saturday, marking the fruits of the 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Telangana DGP Jitender mentioned.
Almost 15,000 sanitation staff would work in three shifts (24×7) in Hyderabad to take care of cleanliness throughout the occasion, the Better Hyderabad Municipal Company (GHMC) mentioned.
Elaborate safety preparations have been made in and round Hyderabad, with a number of departments coordinating to handle the immersion, officers added.
“As many as 50,000 police shall be deployed. Round two lakh Ganesh idols shall be immersed,” the DGP mentioned yesterday.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand mentioned all preparations for the ultimate immersion, scheduled for at this time, are full.
