In a large operation, over 85 kg of gold price Rs 42 crore was seized by the Directorate of Income Intelligence from New Delhi and Gurugram, studies information company ANI.
The officers recovered the gold after conducting search operations in a number of properties in Delhi’s Chattarpur and neighbouring district Gurgaon.
The gold had been smuggled within the type of machine components and was being melted and moulded into totally different shapes.
“The gold smuggled in type of equipment components was being melted and moulded into bar, cylinder shapes earlier than being disposed of within the native market,” officers stated.
4 international nationals have been arrested. Two of these arrested are from South Korea, whereas the opposite two belong to China and Taiwan, officers stated.
Earlier this week, 2.5 kg of gold price Rs 1 crore had been seized by the customs division on the Indira Gandhi Worldwide Airport. On November 16, officers had discovered the gold hid within the life jacket beneath the seat in a flight that had simply arrived from Dubai.
