HIGH POINT — The American Dwelling Furnishings Corridor of Fame Basis was awarded an Ina Mae Kaplan Historic Preservation Grant by the Worldwide Furnishings and Design Assn. to fund new, archival-grade storage tools for historic paperwork, images, documentary movies and objects.
It’s one among simply 5 grants awarded by the IFDA’s Academic Basis Board of Trustees.
“This grant is earmarked particularly for the preservation of some 2,000 items of uncommon and irreplaceable memorabilia, together with authentic drawings by Frank Lloyd Wright, sketches from Mary Webb Wooden and authentic gross sales catalogs from the nineteenth century,” stated Dr. Kyle Hughes, historian for the American Dwelling Furnishings Corridor of Fame.
“We’re prioritizing buying tools and supplies that may enable us to protect, in addition to exhibit and examine, our trade’s historic assortment in our new everlasting residence,” set to open in 2022.
