Heavy Rain In Tamil Nadu; Schools In Chennai, 3 Districts Shut: 10 Points

Chennai:
Heavy rain in Chennai and close by areas has prompted authorities to take emergency steps, together with an order to varsities in 4 districts to remain shut for the following two days. Nationwide Catastrophe Response Drive has been known as in to help in rescue work.

  9. Following a request from the state authorities, the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Drive (NDRF) has deployed 4 groups to help in rescue operations.

  10. The heavy rain has hit highway and rail companies. Although a couple of flights had been delayed, there was no main disruption in air companies, information company PTI reported.
