New Delhi:
An Indian Foreign Service officer died by suicide in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri neighbourhood Friday morning. Recognized as Jitendra Rawat, he jumped off the roof of his government-allotted dwelling – in a colony for Exterior Affairs Ministry officers – at 6 am, police sources instructed NDTV.
The ministry has launched a press release confirming the loss of life and asking for privateness.
“An officer of the Ministry of Exterior Affairs handed away within the morning of March 7 in New Delhi. The Ministry is offering all potential help to the household and is in contact with Delhi Police.”
“The ministry stands with the household on this hour of grief and problem. Additional particulars usually are not being launched, taking into consideration the necessity to respect the household’s privateness on this time of bereavement.”

Sources mentioned Mr Rawat was affected by despair and was present process therapy. He lived on the primary flooring along with his mom, and is survived by his spouse and two youngsters, who stay in Dehradun.
Mr Rawat’s mom was at dwelling when he died, sources mentioned.
He was between 35 and 40 years previous, police sources instructed information company PTI.
The cops are investigating the tragic incident.
