IIMB to establish ‘Centre of Excellence for fintech’ backed by govt


The Karnataka government will set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in fintech in partnership with NSRCEL (Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Studying)– IIMB’s incubation centre on Monday.

The CoE goals to speed up the expansion of fintech within the state by leveraging its thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, facilitating innovation, and offering in depth help for startups within the financial technology sector.

The federal government has allotted Rs 13.24 crores for the centre’s operations over a five-year interval. The incubation and acceleration program prices are estimated at Rs 8.19 crores, whereas Rs 5.04 crores have been allotted for the skilling and coaching programmes, said a authorities launch.

The CoE will run a 12-month programme for 20 startups, providing mentorship, trade insights, infrastructure, workplace house, and networking alternatives to assist them develop.

NSRCEL will lead the CoE because the implementing company and drive innovation by startup incubation, acceleration, ability improvement programmes, and sandbox environments for the startups.


Karnataka’s Minister for IT-BT, Priyank Kharge, mentioned the centre will assist in establishing the state because the fintech capital of the nation.
